Louise Scheibel Smed



Louise’s six years of experience and key qualifications lie within governance, democratic processes, accountability, transparency, anti-corruption, civil society, rural development and microfinance. As a project coordinator and researcher, she has gained broad knowledge in these fields, as well as human rights, gender equality and HIV/AIDS. As an evaluation specialist, she has assessed programmes concerning education, livelihoods, children’s rights and trafficking of children.

Louise holds an MA in African studies, and a BA in Religious Studies and Portuguese. Her assignments include EC-financed national integrity studies in Libya, Denmark and Greenland, as well as several complex, multi-country evaluations for Danida and a variety of NGOs. Louise has carried out numerous large studies and has gained solid experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and research methods, as well as in reviewing donors’ achievements in programme implementation, including theory of change and results based management systems. She has furthermore conducted impact studies and evaluations of livelihoods programmes and economic development, with microfinance as one key element.
