The appraisal concerns the Enhanced Danish-Ethiopian Energy Partnership (DEEP). The partnership is based on a government-to-government cooperation with the purpose of strengthening Ethiopia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in accordance with the Paris Agreement and to support a broad-based economic growth in Ethiopia through strengthening of the energy sector’s performance to achieve SDG 7 and SDG13. The Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy (MoWIE) is the main government cooperating partner. The cooperation will also include the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) responsible for generation and transmission.
