Danish Mission Council Development Department (DMCDD) was an umbrella organisation for Danish churches and Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs) working to improve the living conditions of marginalised groups in the developing countries. Gender equality was integrated cross-cutting perspective in all programmes funded by the DMCDD Fund.

Against this backdrop, NCG was commissioend to undertake a gender review to assess selected approaches and methodologies applied from a gender equality perspective with a specific focus on economic empowerment, GBV and FGM as well as on female leadership in FBOs.
