Project Summary
Sexual minorities in Kenya and in the rest of Eastern and Southern Africa suffer from stigma and discrimination affecting their access to health services, and areconsidered the most vulnerable group to target in order to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. To address these issues, the Danish Family Planning Association has since 2014 been implementing two projects in Kenya with a focus on LGBT+ persons human rights and access to health.
NCG was comissioned to undertake an evaluation of DFPA's work in Kenya, aimed at assessing the impact of the “Equal Access-Equal Rights” approach, DFPA's capacity development of local partners, and the increased demand for and access to LGBT+ friendly services in project areas.
From NCG, the team consisted of Carsten Schwensen and Louise Scheibel Smed, with Marie-Louise Appelquist as Quality Assurer.
