Project Summary

The strengthening of governance standards and mechanisms has been a key objective of Swiss development cooperation. In fact, SDC’s portfolio on good governance has increased considerably over the last decade – particularly in the fields of democratisation and decentralisation – with almost 70 percent of SDC’s overall spending in 2021 contributing to governance as a ‘principal’ or ‘significant’ objective.

The strategic evaluation of SDC’s global governance portfolio from 2017 to 2022, covers both SDC’s core governance program and the broad portfolio of transversal governance interventions. The evaluation developed 8 country case studies to provide in-depth, project-level analysis.

From NCG, the team included Anne-Lise Klausen and Ayla Olesen Yurtaslan, with Dolf Noppen as Quality Assurer.
