Project Summary
Poverty reduction is a core mandate of Swiss development cooperation. Guided by evolving international thinking, SDC increasingly understands poverty as multidimensional and rooted in structural inequalities.
The independent evaluation of SDC’s implementation of its poverty reduction mandate (2017–2024) assesses how this mandate is translated into strategies, programmes and results. Drawing on portfolio analysis, comparative country case studies and theory-based evaluation methods, it examines what works, where, and why—and how SDC can further strengthen its contribution to poverty reduction and social inclusion.
From NCG, the team includes Carsten Schwensen, Louise Scheibel Smed, Anne-Lise Klausen, Ayla Olesen Yurtaslan, Iris Viel Lamare, and Dolf Noppen.
