Project Summary

Understanding how poverty manifests itself for different groups, and what constrains people from escaping poverty is fundamental for designing effective approaches to reduce poverty in all its forms. To this end, Sida has institutionalised a conceptual framework for multidimensional poverty analysis as an integral part of the strategy cycle to ensure poverty focus in its operations.

NCG was contracted to undertake a strategic evaluation of Sida’s work with poverty. The purpose is two-fold: (i) to assess evidence of impact on people living in poverty across a sample of Sida contributions; and (ii) to assess Sida’s capabilities to have a positive impact on people living in poverty.

From NCG, the team includes Carsten Schwensen, Louise Scheibel Smed, Anne-Lise Klausen, and Ayla Olesen Yurtaslan.
