In February 2020, NCG was entrusted by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to set up a secretariat to handle the day-to-day management of its business programmes.
A group of in-house experts and partners in NCG provides technical backstopping, reviews financial and narrative reporting, hold yearly meetings, communicate about results and overall act as the first point of contact for the partnerships that are part of the programmes.

Danida Market Development Partnerships (DMDP)
DMDP is a Danish partnership program targeting commercially oriented partnership projects with private sector participation.
It was designed to promote market-driven and sustainable growth and employment in developing countries in line with the priorities in the Danish Strategy for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action “The World 2030”.
DMDP has had six yearly application rounds, from 2016-2021. The programme has funded a total of 36 partnership projects in 15 different countries. Projects are implemented up until end of 2026.

DGBP succeeded DMDP in 2022. DGBP is a challenge fund designed to promote market-driven green transition and inclusive economic growth in line with the Danish Strategy for Development Cooperation “The World We Share”.
DGBP complements other Danish bilateral and multilateral engagements that aim at promoting inclusive economic development and employment opportunities, among others through increased trade, green investments and business development.
By combining private sector finance and competencies with the local development knowledge of non-commercial partners, the DGBP programme aims to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular addressing climate change mitigation, climate change adaptation, environmental protection, biodiversity and inclusive growth.
