Andreas is a fragile and conflict-affected states expert with close to two decades of experience across humanitarian response, conflict and displacement, peace and stabilisation, and the humanitarian-development-peace nexus.

He specialises in programme appraisals, reviews and formulation for major donor-funded initiatives, with particular depth in displacement, humanitarian response, protection and durable solutions. His expertise is grounded in direct operational leadership, including as Global Programme Director at the Danish Refugee Council, where he led global programme architecture, an organisation-wide response framework, and oversight of emergency scale-ups across multiple simultaneous crises.

He previously served as Chief Advisor at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leading appraisals, reviews and formulations across the Peace and Stabilisation Programme portfolio in the Middle East, Horn of Africa, Sahel and Gulf of Guinea. Earlier field experience spans senior operational and protection roles with Save the Children, UNHCR and UNICEF, responding to conflict, displacement and migration across South Sudan, Sri Lanka, the Horn of Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans.

Andreas holds an MS in International Social Work from Columbia University and two MA/MS degrees in Economics from New York University and Copenhagen University. He is known for rigorous, evidence-based analysis and for translating complex programming challenges into clear, actionable direction.
