Sida Helpdesk on Peace, Migration, Humanitarian Assistance and Nexus

NCG, in collaboration with Clingendael and the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership, operates Sida’s helpdesk on peace, migration, humanitarian assistance and the humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus.


What kind of support does the helpdesk offer?

The helpdesk offers rapid, high-quality advisory support to all Sida staff through short-term, desk-based assignments.

Whether you're navigating fragile contexts, exploring nexus approaches, analysing migration trends or enhancing humanitarian effectiveness, we are here to support you.


Here are some examples of the types of tasks the helpdesk can carry out:

  • Analysis & Strategy: Conduct country, regional or thematic analyses; map conflict drivers or stakeholders; integrate migration and nexus perspectives into strategies.


  • Programmes & Projects: Assess conflict sensitivity in programmes; support inclusion of migrants and displaced persons; review contributions to humanitarian partners.


  • Methods & Capacity: Develop tools, indicators and frameworks to strengthen programme logic and results.


  • Reviews & Data: Carry out desk studies, portfolio reviews, and analyse qualitative and quantitative data related to peace, migration, humanitarian work and the nexus.


How to use the helpdesk

Requests must come from Sida HQ or Swedish embassies with development cooperation portfolios.

To initiate a request, fill in the form linked below. Once received, we’ll follow up within two working days to confirm the assignment or ask for clarification.

Once agreed, assignments begin within five working days, unless otherwise stated in the terms of reference.

Practicalities and contact

The helpdesk is funded under a framework agreement with Sida and is free of charge for Sida and Embassy staff.
All work is delivered under Sida’s confidentiality and data protection rules. Assignments are designed to be lightweight, responsive and of immediate use.

Helpdesk staff are selected for each assignment based on expertise, regional experience and language skills.
All assignments undergo internal quality assurance, including peer review and alignment checks against Sida’s strategies. We ensure that deliverables are high quality, relevant, and tailored to each request.
