Anton is a senior international consultant and organizational and partnership analyst with extensive experience in both official development aid (ODA) and non-ODA work in fragile situations, lagging regions, and sub-national conflict areas. Since joining Nordic Consulting Group in 1995, he has alternated his consulting work with roles such as Danida advisor on human rights and civil society, and social development specialist in the Africa department of the World Bank. With over 25 years of experience in stabilization, conflict transformation, and development, his work includes regional and cross-border programming in the Horn of Africa and Coastal West Africa.
Anton has extensive expertise in the humanitarian-development-peacebuilding nexus, focusing on the localization of aid, area-based programs, urban displacement, and climate change as a fragility risk multiplier. He developed the Danida fragility risk and resilience analysis tool and co-led World Bank analytical work on urban displacement, urban services, and social cohesion. His geographical expertise spans East, Central, and West Africa, as well as South, Central, and Southeast Asia.
A senior process facilitator and program designer, Anton has broad experience in donor partnership engagement and trust funds in fragile states.
